149 - Whately Officers Sea Service Pistol

Good example of English Royal Navy C.1800 officers pistol with belt hook. Lock markings: rear "Whately", side Royal cypher of a George IIIcrown without "GR". Barrel stamped with two "Tower" view and proof marks. $1700 


150 W.L Evans M1826 Navy Pistol With Belt Hook

This .54 caliber smoothbore flintlock U.S. Model 1826 Navy pistol was made by W.L. Evans. 8-1/2 inch long round barrel with swivel ramrod is stamped CI/USN/P and US/P at rear. Lock with brass inset pan and rounded cock, is stamped US/W. L. Evans/Valley Forge under pan. Rounded tail, which comes to a point, is stamped 1831/USN. American walnut stock with standard iron furniture is stamped CI/P just above belthook mounted to left side. CONDITION: Good. Barrel and all furniture has brown patina.  SOLD



183-Tinned R. Johnson Model 1836 Conversion

These pistols were converted for use by the Army and Navy between 1848 and 1850.  Some of the Navy pistols were tin plated and this is one of them.  A .54 caliber bore with an 8 1/8th inch long round barrel.  The lock is stamped US/H. Johnson/MIDDN  CONN./1840.  The barrel is stamped NWP.  The stock is stamped NWP and MPL in script.  The stock is also stamped 12  I to the right of the tang near the breech.  Internal markings include EE in the lock recess, NWP, EE and I 12 on the underside of the barrel.  There are numerous EE 1 and 12 stampings on the trigger, the back of the breech plug and the trigger guard.  Ex Fred Winter, shown on pp 30-31 of his book. $1000


Savage Navy Pistol With USN Mark

Good example of this rare Civil War naval pistol with U.S.N. stamped on the butt strap. Makers name: Savage R.F.A. Co, Middletown Ct./H.S. North patented June 17 1856/January 10, 1859/May 15 1860. One cylinder is blown. SOLD


184-North Model 1826 Conversion With Belt Hook

A .54 caliber bore with an 8 5/8 inch long round barrel.  The lock plate markings are U.S./S. North below the hammer and 1828 behind the hammer.   The barrel is stamped US/AH/P.  the stock is stamped ET in script and F7 behind the belt hook.  The stock is in excellent condition but the metal has been over cleaned.  A very nice example of this navy pistol.
