134 - C1870 USRM Sword By Horstmann

Fine example of a second model USRM officer’s sword. It has the classic grip with raised USRM on the cross-guard. Both counterguards are hinged with a USRM eagle and stars on the obverse and a plain reverse counterguard. The 28 inch long by 28 inch wide deeply etched blade has a Solingen knights headand WH / Horstmann /& Sons / Philadelphia on the reverse. The leather scabbard has a clam shell shaped frog stud and the USRM shield on the top mount and a fouled anchor on the middle mount. The drag is plain. 135 - C1890 USRM Sword

A late version of a second model USRM officer’s sword by an unknown maker. It has the classic grip with raised USRM on the cross guard at the grip. The obverse counterguard is fixed with raised USRM eagle with stars above while the reverse guard is hinged with the naval acorn and anchor motif. The 28-1/2 inch long by 11/16 inch wide bright etched blade has the USRM seal on the obverse and USRM on the reverse. The leather scabbard has a stud and two ring mounts with the USRM shield on the top mount and a fouled anchor on the middle mount. The drag is plain. $2200


136 - C1890 USRM Sword By F.J. Heilberger

A late version of a second model USRM officer’s sword supplied by a Washington D.C.firm. It has the classic grip with raised USRM around the crossguard at the grip. The obverse counterguard is fixed with a raised USRM eagle with stars above while the reverse guard is hinged with a button and has an unusual naval motif of another eagle and stands of arms. The 28-1/2 inch long by 5/8 inch wide bright etched blade has the USRM seal on the obverse and USRM on the reverse. The supplier's name F.J. Heilberger / Washington D.C. is on the reverse. The leather scabbard has the USRM shield on the top mount and a fouled anchor on the middle mount. The drag is plain. $2000
